How To Care For Your Wooden Watch
We cannot deny the fact that wood watches popularity are increasing, but something as beautiful as a wooden watch must still be carefully looked after to maintain its beauty.
Therefore, in this article, we are going to tell you how you can take care of your wooden watch properly.
Replace the battery
Wooden watches are durable and long-lasting but, most watches run on battery which you need to change once every 1 or 2 years. The battery in the wooden watch is like the heart in our body. If it does not have any juice left, the watch stops working. We recommend taking it to the local watch repair shop in order to change the battery. With such small parts its easy for the inexperienced to damage a part of the watch.
Prefer not to change the battery? Check out our Skeleton Core Wood Watch, it has no battery and works off wrist movement.
Keep your wooden watch clean
Cleanliness is something that is required everywhere and when it comes to wooden watches, cleanliness becomes one of the most important aspects. Wood is capable of attracting dirt and therefore, the overall look may dull over time if not kept clean. Dirt can mitigate the glossiness of your watch. So, you are probably thinking about water to keep your watch clean (as most wooden watches splash-proof). But, that is the thing you should not do. Instead of this, you can make a mixture of lemon and natural oil. After that dip a piece of soft cloth into that mixture and then clean your watch with that. Keep it aside for some time so that it can be completely dried and after that use a dry cloth to erase the excess oil.
Keep it out of direct sunlight
Sunlight carries Ultra Violet rays, exposure to these rays for a long period of time not only affects our body but also damages the color of the wooden watch. Therefore, you should avoid exposing your wooden accessory to the direct sunlight in order to maintain the colour of it.
Lubrication is important
We all are acquainted with the fact that woods get dry and therefore, cracks can be seen in the wooden strap as well as in the wooden dial. Yes, wooden watches are durable but, small assistance from your end is also necessary for the upkeep. If you have a wooden watch, we recommend to keep it moisturised from time to time using natural oils such as almond oil, mineral oil, walnut oil, coconut oil and many more.
